These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Matchpoint mobile application and any related services (the "Service"), operated by Richard Ling ("Matchpoint," "we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Matchpoint. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements.
You must be a human being — accounts registered by bots, scripts, or automated methods are not permitted.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.
Matchpoint is a social tennis matching platform. We pair you with one local tennis player per week based on your skill level, location preference, and availability. Our role is to facilitate introductions — we are not a party to, and are not responsible for, what happens during or after your tennis match.

Matchpoint allows you to submit profile information, photos, and messages ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:
We do not claim ownership of your content. You retain all rights to content you submit.
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms, without notice.
All content, features, and functionality of the Matchpoint Service — including but not limited to the app design, branding, logos, code, and text — are owned by Matchpoint and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit any part of the Service without our express written permission.
The Matchpoint app integrates with third-party services including Supabase, Firebase, Render, Expo, Mapbox, Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Resend. Your use of these services through Matchpoint is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Matchpoint disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Matchpoint (including Richard Ling individually) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or personal injury, arising out of or in connection with:
In no event shall Matchpoint's total liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or (b) $100 USD. Because Matchpoint is currently free to use, this effectively limits liability to $100 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Matchpoint and Richard Ling from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time via the app (Profile → Delete account) or by submitting a request at matchpoint.place/account-deletion.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), and 12 (Governing Law) survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Notwithstanding the above, Matchpoint reserves the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent misuse of the Service or infringement of intellectual property rights.
We may revise these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
